Folkekirkens Tværkulturelle Samarbejde in Svendborg – a place where people meet.
FTS – Svendborg is a cross-cultural initiative under the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark (Folkekirken) that supports refugees and immigrants. We stand on two legs and therefore work both socially and in proclaiming the Christian faith.
Our roots in the church are essential to our work: we want to be the outstretched hand of the church to refugees and immigrants in Svendborg, firmly based on the belief that every human being is created in the image of God and has infinite worth.
We are a strong, locally rooted player in the field of integration, working broadly and committedly with, among others, the Danish Refugee Council, the health visitor service and the Intercultural Team. We have solid experience in developing and running initiatives for our target group based on a trauma-informed approach, which creates room to grow and where each person regains courage and the ability to act within the community.
We believe we are at our best together. We work with parishes, migrant congregations, the Danish Refugee Council, the health visitor service, the Intercultural Team, Aktive Boligområder and others.

FTS is the cross-cultural work of Folkekirken (the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark) in Svendborg. We belong to Svendborg Deanery and are therefore part of the Danish national church – it is the church that stands behind our work and makes it possible to have a pastor, a cross-cultural staff member and volunteers.
You don’t have to be a member of Folkekirken or be a Christian to come to us. Everyone is welcome, whatever their faith and background.
